The All Star game is coming soon and Yankee Stadium is getting a proper goodbye from MLB with honor of hosting the game. This may be the only celebrating the Yankees get to do this year as the club is stuck down in third place in the American League West behind the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox.
While the Tampa Bay Rays have shown signs of fading of late the Red Sox have not. That means the Yankees could see the playoffs as a wild card, but they have a long way to go and they just lost Chien-Ming Wang to the DL. It’s just a 15-day break so far, but this could extend longer if he does not heal properly.
The Yankees are not he only team struggling and that could help them out. The Cleveland Indians may be putting the former Cy Young Award winning pitcher C.C. Sabathia on the market if they continue to fade in a confusing American League Central Race.
The White Sox are holding first place right now, but the Twins are starting to gain ground, as are the Detroit Tigers.

The New York Mets are suffering as the pitching, apart form Johan Santana and John Maine, stop the other team from putting the Mets in early hole and the offense continues to lack any kind of consistency, making that hole a grave.
The Mets are trying to say goodbye to Shea Stadium with respect and are trying to squeeze every penny of value out of the $170 million plus payroll they have. Things are not looking good for Mets fan as the Phillies may have their third MVP in three years in Chase Utley.
The Mets can just hold their breath for a few months as the team plays with their emotions. Then comes football season and the New York Giants get to defend their surprising Super Bowl victory.
The funny thing is that even though they won it all they are still going to be underdogs in the NFC East to the Dallas Cowboys. It might be fun again watching Eli Manning and the boys prove themselves all over again.

The NBA Draft is approaching and teams like the Chicago Bulls and the New Knicks are hoping to improve after disastrous seasons that have both teams with new coaches to start out the new season.
The Bulls defied all odds and got the first pick and are expected to use it to pick up point guard Derrick Rose or power forward Michael Beasley. The Knicks are farther down at number six and can really only to improve wit the draft as the payroll is so bloated they really do not have any tradable assets.
The teams hope to return the glory of the ‘90s, while the Boston Celtics and the Lakers hope to stay in the ‘80s. The Celtics and the Lakers may actually be able to pick up a piece or two in this deep draft.
Of course after the draft the nation will be focused on the baseball and the historic end to both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium.
